Tours

Visitors are invited to tour the museum at any time during our regular business hours.  For groups of 20 or more, a phone call or email in advance would be great.  For scout groups, school groups or other youth organizations, click here for additional information on our children’s programming.

The museum tour begins with a 12 minute introductory video, A Different Way to Hear.   Visitors will then take a stroll through our Living by the Eye exhibit, a mock living environment demonstrating some of the technology used to facilitate independence and safety in the home.  The remainder of the tour is a self-guided journey through Deaf history and culture, a look at the history of the Kansas School for the Deaf, with a variety of historical artifacts along the way.  Please allow 1-2 hours for your visit.

While the museum tour is free, donations are always welcome.  We look forward to your visit!
